Shoulder pain rehab in Austin for people who lift, press and play

Pain when you press, reach overhead or do pull-ups. Let's find what's limiting your shoulder and make it strong again.

The short answer

Most shoulder pain in active adults, including pain when pressing, reaching overhead or doing pull-ups, responds well to progressive strength-based rehab. In a large UK trial, people who had shoulder decompression surgery did no better than people who had a placebo (investigation-only) surgery. That's why we start with a thorough assessment and targeted strength work, not passive treatment or a referral for surgery.

Why it happens

Common shoulder problems we see

• Pain with bench press, overhead press or push-ups
• Rotator cuff irritation and "impingement"
• Front-of-shoulder pain from pull-ups and dips
• Shoulder pain that comes with neck tension

Resting a sore shoulder can calm it down, but it doesn't make it stronger. What usually changes it is building strength and control in the positions that hurt.

How we treat it

Measure it, then build it

01

Find the trigger

Pinpoint which movements and positions hurt, and how much, so we know exactly what to work on.

02

Calm it down

Hands-on care, dry needling and focused shockwave for stubborn tendon pain to reduce pain and restore motion.

03

Build strength

Rotator cuff and shoulder blade strength, built up step by step and rechecked so you can see the progress.

04

Return to lifting

Rebuild your pressing and pulling step by step so it holds up under real training.

What's different here

Not your typical chiro visit

  • 60-minute visits, one-on-one with a Doctor of Chiropractic
  • A 3D movement assessment (Kinetisense) so you can see how you move
  • Mobility and strength checked side to side, not guessed
  • Hands-on care plus a strength plan, never just "rest"
Questions

Common questions

Do I need to stop lifting?+

Rarely. We modify the lifts that flare it and keep the rest.

Do I need an MRI?+

Not usually to start. If something suggests you need one, we'll tell you and refer you.

How long will it take?+

Many people feel a difference in a few weeks. Full return depends on the injury and your goals, and you'll get a timeline at your Root Cause Assessment.

Do I have to get adjusted?+

No. Adjustments are one tool among many and never required.

This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Your Root Cause Assessment tells us what's actually going on for you.
