Questions
Frequently asked questions
Got questions? You're not alone. We work with a lot of people who've tried other providers, felt stuck, or weren't sure what to expect. So we put together real answers to the most common questions we get. No fluff, just info to help you feel confident moving forward.
Getting started
I'm already seeing another provider. Why should I see you?
Ask yourself these questions. Why are you seeking out another provider? What is your current treatment missing? Are you continually having to go back because your issue keeps coming back? Are they listening to you? Do they give you an end date for treatment? We give you a plan. We know exactly what we're looking for to set you up for success long-term, and we give you the tools to feel confident in returning to activity.
Who do you work with?
We work with anyone dedicated to getting back to health. If you're frustrated with being in pain and know there's something out there for you. If you've tried traditional PT and chiro with little success. If you believe movement is medicine and it can get you back to your goals.
How do I know that you can help me?
We'll be completely honest about whether we can help you. Your root cause analysis helps us determine what we can work on during your treatment plan. We address the whole body, not just the area of pain.
I'm not super active. Can I still come in?
Absolutely. You don't need to be an athlete to benefit from movement-based care. If you want to feel better and move more confidently, you're in the right place.
What to expect
I'm scared of adjustments. Do I have to get them?
Nope. We don't have to do adjustments to get you out of pain and functioning better. While adjustments can temporarily improve range of motion and help with pain, they aren't necessary. We have many techniques in our toolkit.
Am I going to be passed off to an assistant?
Nope. We pride ourselves on being one-on-one with our patients for the whole hour. Each treatment plan is unique to the patient.
Can I attend my group classes while getting treatment?
In general, yes. We fully support keeping you active during this time. There may be some movements we modify due to pain or discomfort, and we love communicating with your group class instructors to make sure you can stay in your classes and your community.
Will I get homework between sessions?
Yes, but it's not about more exercises. It's about the right ones. Your plan will be simple, focused, and designed to fit into your life, not take it over.
What should I wear to my session?
Wear clothes you can move in. Athletic wear or anything comfortable works great. We'll be assessing how you move and possibly doing hands-on work.
Pain & recovery
What if I've been in pain for years? Can this still help me?
Yes. Chronic pain doesn't mean you're broken. It just means no one's addressed the root cause yet. We take the time to figure that out and move forward with a plan that makes sense.
What if I've been told my pain is just something I have to live with?
That's usually not true, and we want to commend you for still looking for answers. Pain can change. You should still have strategies to reduce it, decrease its intensity, and manage it. If you've been told it's something you'll deal with forever but still feel like something's not right, we're here to explore what others may have missed.
How can I trust that you will help me?
We've personally experienced the challenges of dealing with injuries like low back pain and shoulder pain, so we understand how frustrating it can be. We're committed to doing everything in our power to help you find relief. If we can't, we'll make sure to refer you to someone who can.
Do you help with injury prevention too?
Absolutely. Many patients keep working with us even after pain is gone because they want to stay ahead of future issues and keep performing at a high level.
Logistics
Are you expensive?
In our opinion, not at all. A lot of people end up spending more on takeout or small daily expenses than they would on care that helps them move better, feel better, and stay out of pain long term. There's no set price, because every plan is built around you, your goals, your injury history, and what it'll take to get real results. On the call, we'll talk through your options and find what makes the most sense for you.
Do you accept HSA or FSA cards?
Yes. You can use your HSA or FSA to pay for visits or packages, just like you would at any other medical provider.
Do you take insurance?
We're a cash-pay practice. We don't bill insurance directly, but we can provide documentation (a superbill) for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
How soon can I get in?
We try to get new patients scheduled within a week. If you're in a lot of pain, let us know. We'll do our best to get you in as soon as possible.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a root cause analysis directly with us.
